Who needs gourmet mac and cheese? Not me! My palette isn’t that sophisticated, so I always die for a hearty bowl of gooey, indistinguishable cheese product sauce type of mac and cheese. Yes, I love Velveeta and Stouffer’s mac and cheeses. And this one was no exception. It was a menu special at the Cafe at the End of the Universe that, for some inexplicable reason, has Wolfgang Puck’s name slapped on it. The cafe is located at the Griffith Observatory, an insanely crowded but pretty landmark. It was late in the day so they were really getting down to the bottom of the serving tray. We were going to order two bowls of this stuff, but there was a legit 10-year-old kid behind us who was really looking forward to it, so we let him have the last of it.
It is accompanied by a Froot Loop marshmallow treat. Like a Rice Krispie treat, only more technicolor. I would have none of it. Treats this colorful scare me. It was as big as Tom’s head (not pictured).
