I splurged at Gelson’s this weekend. As a result, I have lots of delicious meat hanging out in the fridge. I had to make a special veggies-only stop to Trader Joe’s.
Baby back ribs with spinach, bacon, shallots and goat cheese salad
Duck breast with balsamic cherry sauce and polenta, haricots verts
Top sirloin steak on salad greens, Brussels sprouts
Earlier this week, I made Dover sole (thank you, Marukai) meuniere. It was really good, but I don’t get the big deal about Dover sole. Why does it cost an arm and a leg? Sure, it has a delicate yet crispy texture and subtle flavor enhanced by lemon. But is it really so different from another cheaper white fish? Hmm. Maybe I’ll do a taste comparison one day.
