The first session of the Hague Academy ended last week, so two of our roommates and myself were moving out of the apartment. Unfortunately, our Thai roommate had prior dinner plans, so the rest of us cooked a modest dinner of dishes that somewhat represented our cultures. Of course, this meant that the actual dinner was Chinese food (as an American, my potential contribution of cheeseburgers, mac and cheese, or steak clashed with the overall concept) and the dessert was French.
Two of the girls were mainland Chinese and they cooked dishes that were fairly familiar to me, including the scrambled eggs with tomatoes, egg rolls, and steamed egg topped with ground beef (a childhood favorite which I requested!).
