Zuni Cafe’s spaghetti with clams.

Zuni Cafe’s spaghetti with clams and tomatoes.  It took me a while to find the clams because all the markets wanted to sell them by the kilo.  Luckily, during my bike ride to Scheveningen, I stopped by the main Simonis shop, which has a better selection than the shops in the center, and had an actual tank of clams, not just prepackaged bags.  The recipe only calls for half a pound of pasta, but both times I’ve made this, I felt it should just be a whole 1 lb. package of pasta.  I would also use pinot grigio, not chardonnay, but I’m not sure why… I think I just don’t like chardonnay, yet that’s what I happened to have on hand.

Preparing clams is so easy; I should really try to do mussels next.
