Strand House Manhattan Beach (A lazy biking Sunday)

ImageRestaurants with beautiful ocean views usually have lackluster food and outrageous prices, but the Strand House in Manhattan Beach has one of the best locations with a menu to match.  I guess you have to be pretty good at what you do to participate in Cochon 555, as Strand House’s chef Neal Fraser will be doing on May 6.  After the initial 15 mile bike ride along the coast, we had a “snack” (bread, three appetizers, and an entree) before heading home.  Pictured above is pan roasted Jidori chicken with a sherry shallot sauce and the braised rabbit gnocchi.  Not pictured were the equally delectable Carlsbad mussels and one of the tastiest surprises, lobster cavatelli with mascarpone and peas.

ImageYou’d think he was the one riding around all day.
